How do I figure out my design style?
You don’t need to have a defined “style” going into the process. Most clients come in with a mix of preferences rather than a single label—and that’s exactly where we start.
We focus on understanding how you want your home to feel and how you live day to day. From there, we identify patterns in what you’re drawn to—materials, colors, and overall atmosphere—and shape those into a cohesive direction that feels both intentional and livable.

What design services do you offer?
Hive and Co specializes in full-service residential interior and exterior design. This encompasses everything from initial space planning and material curation for new builds to furniture procurement, custom cabinetry design, and final on-site styling for renovations.
What does your design process look like?
Our process is rooted in intention. It begins with a Discovery phase where we understand your lifestyle, followed by a Conceptual Design phase where we refine the vision. Finally, the Execution phase ensures every material and piece of furniture is positioned with precision and purpose.
How long do typical design projects take?
Timelines depend largely on project scope. A signature room transformation generally requires 4 to 10 weeks, while large-scale construction or renovation projects can range from several months to over a year, depending on architectural complexities.
How do we get started on a project?
The journey begins with an initial inquiry through our contact form. From there, you’ll have the option to complete our Design Intake Questionnaire to help us better understand your space and goals ahead of time. We follow this with a brief discovery call to assess project alignment, and then schedule an in-home consultation to evaluate your space and discuss your vision in detail.
Can you help with contractor selection and management?
We often work alongside trusted renovation partners, such as [Honey Blue Renovations], where design and construction are closely aligned. We’re also happy to collaborate with your preferred contractor, ensuring the design is carried through thoughtfully and executed with consistency. During the execution phase, we act as your design advocate, visiting the site regularly to ensure the project is evolving according to the approved design vision.
What is included in your design consultation service?
A design consultation is a focused session where we walk through your space (in-home or virtual) and discuss how you live, providing clear, actionable guidance on layout, style, materials, and overall direction. You’ll receive expert recommendations—including where to invest, how to improve functionality, and ideas you may not have considered—along with real-time feedback to help you move forward with confidence.
